Given the realities of HIPAA privacy dictates we are unable to post client testimonials. The following are some of the responses received from our Early Intervention and Case Management employees when asked why they want to work at Aging with Flair...

My interest in working with Aging with Flair stems from the agency's foundation of being community based and meeting the clients in areas that are most comfortable for them and their family and the agency's ability to provide services that assist clients with daily life functioning. Another benefit of being apart of the Aging with Flair family is having time to help others and further my education; I am able to become a Master's level social worker for myself and my clients.

Aging with Flair is an organization that cares about the families they serve where quality of service is very important. And their primary goal is to help the ones in need. Aging with Flair is always reaching out to families of all socio economic levels and with different levels of needs.

The environment of Aging with Flair is one of collaboration. Employees come from different backgrounds and experiences so we are all resources within the company to help each other.

Aging with Flair also allows employees to meet their long term goals allowing us to explore our passions and interest and incorporating those to the agency as much as possible.

I think of Aging with Flair not just as a work place but more as a team and family where everybody helps each other to be a better professional and person.

I LOVE being an Early Interventionist. I just graduated from Clemson University in May and for years while I was in school my goal was to be able to help kids. I personally had struggled with a learning disability and someone helped me and changed my whole school experience! Through Aging with Flair I get the opportunity to meet families from all over and start a bond with them. I get to see their lows when they are really frustrated and I get to see the highs when their child is doing something they never have done before. Some of these families do not know about the resources that are available for them and their children and I get to be the one who helps them out or take a little of the weight off their shoulders. I know I have said this before but I love this job! Just this morning I went to see a little girl who doesn't talk at all and we finally got her to repeat after me and say "mama." Just that one word made her mom bust out in tears and jump up and down. The little girl in return started jumping up and down and repeatedly staying mama mama mama. The mom thanked me over and over and I reminded her that it's her little girl that had said it, I just was the one that was lucky enough to help and witness it. Family training appointments like this make your day and makes me feel like I'm not even 'working.' The reason I always want to have new referrals is because that gives me the opportunity to connect with a new family and try to help as much as possible.

I am pleased and proud to say that I am a part of Aging with Flair. I love my job and look forward to what it brings to me and the other lives it touches daily.

Aging with Flair is a wonderful company to work for. Not only do the owners treat their employees with the outmost respect, love, and kindness, they offer and provide extensive training and resources. Aging with Flair owners and staff treat their AWF families like they are one of their own. We serve them with their best interest at heart for their particular needs.

Aging with Flair was dreamed and developed by Anne and Nick Schisler. They are both well educated & diverse in the services that are rendered and the needs of their families. At Aging with Flair we offer Early Intervention, Medicaid Targeted Case Management, Therapy Services, and the newcomer is Family and Community Navigation.  This new service will open up resources and support to many in need in a variety of areas.

I would recommend Aging with Flair to my own family, friends, and the public.

I have been employed at Aging with Flair since February 2015. I've been given the opportunity to supervise a wonderful group of ladies who strive to implement exceptional services to the families they serve. Nick and Anne have a passion for helping those in need and provide a wonderful program. I feel blessed to be a part Aging with Flair.

My Faith requires me to serve rather than be served; I began working as an Medicaid Targeted Case Manager to fulfill my deeply-ingrained responsibility to serve those in need in my community while earning a decent wage to support my own family. MTCM enables me to meet each person where they are – not as a person demanding change based on how I perceive their lives but rather as a person allowed into someone’s life to provide support and advocacy as they navigate through their own needs and choices.

I have one client that stands out for me as the very best example of MTCM in action. I was called to the hospital to meet with Joe (not his real name). Joe had been admitted four times in the past month for cardiac-related issues. We needed to connect with him at the hospital because he had no telephone and lived in a rural community. I met him on his 59th birthday; he is a cantankerous, lifelong alcoholic with several chronic health conditions that required him to pay attention. He was interested in receiving MTCM services but clearly had little faith in me.

I met with Joe at his home immediately upon his discharge. One of the issues we discussed in the hospital was the lack of electricity in his current trailer and I went out to see if I could assist in getting him utilities. What I found was that Joe was living in a shell of a trailer with no utilities at all, including running water or plumbing. He used a wood grill to cook food and paid someone to bring him buckets of water. It was not possible to turn the utilities on because there were no facilities that would work even if there was water and electric. Joe was paying $200/month for this place. Since he had no refrigeration, he often ate food with maggots because it was all he had. I struggled with my conscience on whether Joe was a vulnerable adult in a situation of abuse, neglect, or exploitation, including self-neglect. After much consideration, I internally decided that if he were able to remain out of the hospital for a period of time, I would not contact DSS Adult Protective Services. I began working with Joe on a slow, incremental journey – he went from labelling me a city-girl to seeing me as a person who would stick by him.

I am proud of Joe’s successes in the past months. He has moved into a better, albeit still rather rundown, trailer with electricity and water. He now receives additional SSI monies, he goes to the doctor regularly, he tries to take his medication, and he has not been readmitted to the hospital in almost 8 months. Although we got him a cell phone, he doesn’t like it and we are getting him a land line. He pays his bills each month and is trying to save a little bit. He is still an alcoholic but talks about wanting to drink less. I am not taking credit for his successes, they are purely his to own. However, I believe that he feels supported by someone that cares and that may have contributed to his choices. Perhaps the greatest compliment he could give this ‘city girl’ was a referral to one of his friends.

Joe, and all of my other clients, are simply trying to get through their lives as best they can with what they have. They are not users or abusers of any system. They just need support in planning and navigating through the complicated systems that society has placed them in. That is why I am an MTCM – to provide advocacy and support for those who need it most. In helping others, I am truly doing what I am called to do.

Having worked with children for many years, Aging with Flair appealed to me due to their reputation as a statewide high-quality Early Intervention provider.  I was also impressed that Aging with Flair encompassed other areas of services needed in the community via Case Management and Rehab Services.  As an Early Interventionist with Aging with Flair, I have been given the opportunity to build a rapport with the families I work with to address and find strategies that fit the needs of their child.  It is  ultimately a service for the community as it prepares these children to be successful in school and ultimately life.

Having the opportunity to work with Aging with Flair has allowed me to do something I enjoy and have a strong passion for. Since I have been with Aging with Flair I've learned more and more about our community and the people who live here. I've had the opportunity to speak with a wide variety of providers and resources available to families. To be able to help children and families in our community and see them excel is a rewarding experience. Beyond my passion I've also been able to commit to my family and ensure not only am I able to help provide for them, but also enjoy all the milestones my two beautiful children are achieving!

One of the most wonderful things about Aging with Flair is its willingness to seek and find needs within the community and then build the infrastructure and supports needed to meet those needs.  Additionally, I see Aging with Flair as a safe haven for employees needing a place where their strengths and uniqueness is accepted and encouraged. Having a place to develop our talents through work and professional activities increases morale and funnels down to more exceptional services for families.

Aging With Flair affords me the opportunity to provide services for families and children. The families I see are appreciative of the help and support they get. Aging With Flair is a valuable resource to the community because of the variety of services offered.

I enjoy working for Aging With Flair because of the sense of accomplishment it affords. It is great to begin with a child who cannot even sit alone and see that child blossom into a walking, talking, rambunctious toddler. I love making new friends in the families that I come into contact with. It feels that they become an extension of my own family. Also, Aging with Flair feels like a family. Everyone seems to get along well and genuinely care for one another. I feel that the work done by the Aging With Flair family members greatly enhances the mission of the Early Intervention program in the communities in which we serve.

I decided to join Aging with Flair to explore career options as a Medicaid Target Case Manager. Aging with Flair has a welcoming team! I applaud the Administration  for being professional, informative, and engaging. Aging with Flair attracted me because it is a home based business and flexible.  As a Medicaid Target Case Manager my goal is to assist families within a target population to meet the client's mental, physical, mental or social needs.

I've been an Aging with Flair employee for almost a year. It has been one of the most rewarding experiences in my life. I am an Developmental Specialist to immigrant/Hispanic families and an Early Interventionist to children from infant to school age in rural and suburban areas. Providing services to so many different families from so many diverse backgrounds, and being able to shape and change the lives of their loved ones is one of the greatest gifts. This agency matters to me because it has provided me with so much support and encouragement that it feels more like a family.

It has been a pleasure working with Aging With Flair as their level of commitment has been exemplary working with at risk clients. The company as a whole goes above and beyond helping individuals reach their goals and empowering clients to move forward with dignity and self respect.

I began my work with At-Risk youth by way of having a special needs child. Therefore; having the knowledge, experience, and being able to navigate my way through the path of the complex-medical community comes naturally to me. Being with Aging with Flair has allowed me to work with familiar families that have, are, or will be traversing the same road as myself. Being a native of the community in which I live has allowed Aging with Flair to become planted and established with positivity and hospitality; not only because of sharing my own personal experiences, but also by offering professional resources to my clients. I enjoy being able to utilize my gifts and talents with clients through the platform of Aging with Flair.

I have been with Aging with Flair since April 2015. I have over 13 years of case management experience in different entities of social services and public health. I enjoy working with the public, meeting new people and learning new skills. I like working with the older population, because you can learn so much from them about history. I also have a passion for working with young people; specifically ages 10-15 because that’s the age that is often forgotten and there is not a lot of programs/activities in my area for this age group.

Since working with Aging with Flair, it has allowed me to get back to working in the community and assisting those in need. Aging with Flair provides a format to be able to help those who meet the criteria for the program while still having a sense of being able to give back. Seeing families and individuals reach their goals is very rewarding. The joy at the end of the day knowing that you have helped someone in need makes what we do as case managers well worth it!

I'm a new MTCM at Aging with Flair. I've worked in many different programs, and this one is unique in that Anne and Nick really care about their staff and the clients we serve. While Aging with Flair has a relatively small presence in my area, Anne and Nick really want to grow the program, and look to staff experience and expertise in the local area to help them guide their decisions rather than "ruling from afar", as many other agencies do. Aging with Flair also has a very pronounced lack of upper level bureaucracy, making them extremely flexible in what they can offer to the communities they serve. Anne and Nick take the time to hire staff that will properly represent Aging with Flair in the community, rather than just filling vacancies, and I feel very comfortable working with my professional peers.

When I was looking for a job as an Early Interventionist, I was given numerous opportunities to interview with other BabyNet private agency providers. Even though each agency was different in their own right, but also shared some similarities, none of them was the right fit for me and what I felt was important to me as an employee, as a agency representative, and as an Early Interventionist.

However, from the moment I spoke to Anne Connor-Schisler, I knew that there was definitely something impressive about this individual and her agency Aging with Flair. When we finally had the opportunity to meet in person, she confirmed what I believed from our initial phone conversation and I knew that this was the agency that I wanted to work with and work for. Anne and her husband Nick (CFO), have always made me feel like I was an important part of their agency and they have both demonstrated over and over again how much they value their employees.

Nonetheless, Anne and Nick are also very passionate about the work that they do and about the services we as an agency, provide to "all" of the families that we serve. As an Early Interventionist, I can attest to how different my families are in many ways within my service areas, but regardless of those differences, each family is shown respect, compassion, and a sense of oneness within the Aging with Flair family.

Aging with Flair matters to me because its more then just a place to work at. Its a place myself and other individuals with the same goals can come together and offer talents and passion for helping people and make a difference in people's lives- which is one of the most fulfilling feelings I have ever experienced.

❉ ❉ ❉ ❉ ❉ ❉ ❉ ❉ ❉ ❉ ❉ ❉

Although I have been employed with Aging With Flair for less than a month, I know I am a contributing member of a team that cares for the growth of children. Every time I am with Anne and Nick, I get it…the high priority they put on the best practices and help we as a team give to the families.

I have been working with Aging with Flair since August 2015 as a Medicaid Targeted Case Manager. I desired to work with Aging with Flair due to having a passion for helping less fortunate people in my area in which I reside. I currently come from a small town and I’m able to understand the lack of resources available to client’s receiving Medicaid. I feel that working with Aging with Flair will allow me to provide those resources to those in need.

Why being at Aging With Flair matters to me: There are numerous reasons that being with Aging With Flair matters to me. First, my son, who was diagnosed with a myriad of disabilities, had early intervention services and I KNOW what a huge impact it had on him. Second, it allows me to nurture, which is part of my nature. Though I get paid for what I do, I get to 'help' and make others live's better. When a parent tells me "you are a very important part of our family" or "you really brighten our day", that is priceless to me! Finally, the being part of Aging With Flair specifically - to work for owners that you can see, truly have a heart for what they do, that is icing on the cake! Yes, we are all making money, we have to in order to survive; to be able to work for people that truly love what they do and see that it matters to them - that is priceless also!

❉ ❉ ❉ ❉ ❉ ❉ ❉ ❉ ❉ ❉ ❉ ❉

In my experience, Aging With Flair truly cares about its employees and the clients it serves. The company takes initiative to seek out the wants and needs of others in order to help them in the best way possible. As an employee, Aging with Flair, has gone above and beyond to help me during a transitional time in my life. They were there to offer support and any suggestions if I seemed to be in need of them.   For the children and others we serve, the whole Aging with Flair team continuously seeks to improve their lives not only through early intervention and case management, but also during other stages in life.  We are there to offer support and encouragement, celebrate the achievements, and guide them through the world of special needs.
